Senior Test Automation Engineer (Python / Go)

About the role

In this role, you will design and implement robust end-to-end tests that validate complex system behavior for new features and regression. You’ll shape how quality is engineered across multiple applications, build scalable Python/Go test solutions, and help raise the bar for the entire team through better tooling, practices, and reliable automated coverage.

Responsibilities

• Validate functional and performance behavior of systems both in isolation and at scale to reduce risk, enhance system reliability, and coordinate with developers and operations stakeholders on test coverage
• Drive test strategy and best practices across the team to ensure consistent, maintainable, and effective test approaches while working closely with peers and cross-functional partners to align on quality goals
• Develop and enhance automated tests to support comprehensive functional and performance validation of systems
• Analyze test results and system behavior at different scales to identify, document, and communicate defects and performance bottlenecks
• Define, refine, and document test strategies, standards, and guidelines to promote best practices in test automation and quality assurance
• Mentor less experienced engineers on test frameworks, strategies, and best practices to elevate team capabilities and foster knowledge sharing
• Provide technical guidance on the design and use of automated tests and internal tools to ensure they remain scalable, robust, and aligned with project requirements
• Evaluate and improve existing test frameworks, libraries, and tools to increase efficiency, reliability, and coverage of automated testing

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in software development or test automation roles, designing, implementing, and maintaining robust testing solutions
• Strong proficiency with production-quality Python or Golang, developing and maintaining automated tests, shared libraries, and internal tools for functional and performance testing
• Solid experience with testing REST APIs, including request/response validation, authentication, error handling, pagination, and rate limiting strategies
• Practical experience with creating synthetic files and generating test data for automation testing, including malformed, edge-case, and high-volume inputs
• Strong knowledge of Linux or Unix-based operating systems for developing, executing, and troubleshooting automated tests
• Proficiency with Git and code review workflows, including branching strategies, pull requests, and collaborative code quality practices
• Strong experience with bug tracking tools, ensuring accurate defect logging and lifecycle management
• Clear understanding of writing requirements, test scenarios, and managing defect tracking through its full lifecycle from discovery to resolution
• Strong ability to identify test cases and automation candidates, prioritizing coverage by risk and business impact
• Practical experience with debugging failures across the stack, distinguishing product bugs from test or environment issues using logs, services, and databases
• Collaborative working style, partnering closely across teams throughout design and development phases while mentoring and providing technical guidance to less experienced engineers
• Dedicated approach to meeting deadlines, taking ownership and responsibility for team-level outcomes and deliverables
• Intermediate+ level of English for effective communication
