ABOUT THE ROLE
In this role, you will be responsible for validating the business logic and data transformations delivered on the platform. You will design and build automated data verification solutions, reconcile platform outputs against the legacy solution, investigate discrepancies down to their root cause. Your work will be essential to guaranteeing that the new customer solution is accurate, reliable, and trusted by downstream consumers.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Create and maintain test plans, test documentation, and test execution reports
- Review, debug, and validate transformation logic in dbt models, including developing data quality tests and guiding the team in implementing effective validation practices
- Own and evolve the automation framework and overall automation strategy for the new solution, while fostering team adoption, contribution, and shared ownership over time.
- Design and implement large-scale data validation and reconciliation test
- Validate data pipelines across ingestion, transformation, and publication layers
- Perform large-scale cross-system validation of millions of records to verify business logic, data transformations, and data integrity across the platform
- Design and execute ECS task performance tests (runtime vs data volume)
- Compare platform outputs against the legacy solution, investigate and explain discrepancies, perform root-cause analysis of data quality issues, and raise defects where required.
- Contribute to the integration of automated checks into CI/CD pipelines and ongoing data quality monitoring
REQUIREMENTS
- Solid understanding of ETL/ELT testing and data reconciliation techniques
- Scripting experience in Python (or a similar language) for building automated data checks
- Hands-on experience reviewing and validating transformation logic (dbt preferred)
- Experience with end-to-end data pipeline testing
- Experience with testing event-driven systems, including conceptual knowledge of Kafka and hands-on validation
- Experience in analyzing large-scale system performance and building performance testing solutions from the ground up
- Hands-on AWS experience (S3, RDS, IAM, ECS debugging)
- Experience in working with modern data platforms (Snowflake, Airflow)
- Strong SQL skills (complex joins, aggregations, reconciliation queries)
