ABOUT THE ROLE
Our client, a global financial data and technology leader powering modern capital markets, is seeking a Senior Test Automation Engineer to help turn a fragmented automation landscape into a unified, scalable quality ecosystem. You will work hands-on on framework design and implementation, modernizing legacy products while meeting rigorous security, compliance, and reliability standards.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Analyze automation across legacy and modern Web and Mobile products, surfacing technical debt, risks, coverage gaps, and quick wins
- Contribute to the automation roadmap, balancing tactical improvements with the long-term quality strategy aligned with security, compliance, and reliability standards
- Rework Java-based frameworks using Playwright, applying reusable libraries, consistent design patterns, coding standards, and maintainable architecture
- Build scalable automated suites across UI, API, integration, and mobile layers, supported by effective test data management and reporting
- Integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines and release processes to improve feedback speed, traceability, release confidence, and production readiness
- Work with Engineering, QA, DevOps, and product stakeholders to apply shift-left practices and help consolidate tooling across teams
- Take part in code reviews and share knowledge with other automation engineers, while exploring AI-assisted testing and cloud execution options
- Report findings, progress, and technical recommendations to the team and project stakeholders
REQUIREMENTS
- 5+ years in test automation, including experience modernizing legacy environments
- Advanced Playwright and Java expertise, including building frameworks with reusable libraries and design patterns
- Nice to have: Swift and UI testing of native iOS applications; testing of native Android applications with Appium or similar
- Web and Mobile automation experience across UI, API, and integration layers, plus device execution using BrowserStack or similar
- Knowledge of test data management and reporting tools such as Allure, ExtentReports, or ReportPortal
- Strong Git skills and experience integrating automation into CI/CD pipelines with GitLab CI, or similar
- Experience in regulated financial services, capital markets, or fintech, with awareness of security, compliance, audit, and reliability requirements
- Clear communication skills and the ability to explain technical decisions to non-technical stakeholders
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience; ISTQB certification is an advantage
