About the role
As a Senior Robotics AI and Simulation Engineer in the SoftServe Robotics Group, you will design and build intelligent robotic systems that operate in both simulated and real-world environments. You’ll work at the intersection of AI, robotics, and simulation technologies, helping global clients—from innovative start-ups to large enterprises—solve complex, real-world challenges across industries such as healthcare, automotive, retail, enterprise, and education.

Responsibilities
- Work with robots all over the world, both remotely and onsite, during business trips
- Design and develop solutions for various types of robots, including mobile robots, robotic arms, and drones
- Develop AI models based on the latest state-of-the-art
- Work with promptable and foundation models
- Build multiple rapid prototypes and production-ready solutions
- Test AI and robotics solutions in simulation and the real world
- Build Synthetic Data Generation pipelines and use them to solve real-world problems
- Build reinforcement and imitation learning pipelines
- Integrate robots with cloud services
- Design automated robotic AI systems to increase production and precision within specific industries
- Perform regular research of the latest trends and modern approaches in the robotics AI domain
Requirements
- 6+ years of professional experience in software development with deep expertise in C/C++ and Python
- MSc or Ph.D. degree in Robotics, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or a related technical discipline
- Strong experience developing AI-based robotics perception, computer vision, and/or agentic systems
- Hands-on experience with robotics simulation, particularly in synthetic data generation, simulation-first robotics development, or reinforcement learning scenarios
- Broad knowledge of modern AI and robotics technologies, including TensorFlow, PyTorch, OpenCV, ROS/ROS2, simulation and rendering tools (NVIDIA Isaac, Bullet, Blender), object detection, segmentation and tracking, action planning, generative AI, reinforcement and imitation learning, natural language processing, point cloud and RGB-D data processing, and GPU-accelerated computing
- Proven ability to design robust software architectures and develop complex, high-performance algorithms
- Strong proficiency in Linux environments with a solid understanding of networking, communication protocols, and cloud services for complex multi-robot systems and robot–cloud integration
- Experience with testing strategies, continuous integration, MLOps practices, as well as building, deploying, and monitoring of complex systems
- Excellent analytical skills with strong attention to detail, a solid mathematical foundation, and a structured problem-solving mindset
- Genuine passion for technology, continuous learning, and sharing knowledge with others
- Willingness and flexibility to travel for both short- and long-term onsite engagements
- Strong collaboration skills with the ability to communicate effectively within cross-functional teams
- Upper-intermediate English proficiency, both spoken and written
