ABOUT THE ROLE
In this role, you will play a key part in driving the migration of cloud services from AWS to GCP, helping modernize critical platforms while ensuring stability, security, and seamless integration across distributed systems. Your work will directly impact the reliability, scalability, and performance of large-scale cloud environments used by engineering and business teams worldwide.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design and execute test plans across migrated services and validate parity between AWS and GCP
- Design and run end-to-end test scenarios across service, data, and messaging layers
- Own observability validation: dashboard parity, alert firing, log/trace flow, OTEL telemetry, and PagerDuty routing
- Perform security validation covering IAM, Workload Identity, Secret Manager, TLS, Shielded VMs, and audit logging
- Author and maintain test cases in JIRA and Confluence aligned with migration-wave scope
- Report, triage, and verify fixes for defects identified during validation
- Validate data-backed scenarios using SQL against relational and analytical databases
- Collaborate with engineering teams on test scope and defect clarification
- Test evidence and reports to support migration acceptance
REQUIREMENTS
- 3+ years of quality control experience in backend services and distributed systems
- Functional testing proficiency including test plan design, test case authoring, and regression execution
- End-to-end testing experience across services, data stores, and event-driven message flows
- Strong observability validation expertise including dashboard parity, alert firing, log and trace flow, OTEL checks, PagerDuty routing, and audit trail verification
- Security validation expertise across IAM, RBAC, Workload Identity, Secret Manager, TLS, Shielded VMs, Artifact Registry, and organizational policies
- Experience with Security Command Center and gcloud/Terraform plan verification for IAM, firewall, and policy state validation
- SQL knowledge for data-backed validation across relational and analytical data stores
- Familiarity with Postman for manual REST API and messaging testing
- JIRA and Confluence proficiency for test management and defect tracking
- Analytical and detail-oriented approach to defect reproduction, documentation, and triage
- Strong communication skills for daily collaboration with English-speaking client-side software engineers
- Familiarity with test automation concepts and Python-based testing frameworks considered an advantage
