ABOUT THE ROLE
The project focused on migrating cloud services from AWS to GCP while ensuring stability, security, and seamless integration across distributed systems. The role involved working in a complex cloud environment with challenges related to service parity, observability validation, infrastructure security, and cross-platform compatibility. Key challenges included validating large-scale migrations, ensuring consistent performance and monitoring, and supporting high-quality delivery in a fast-paced engineering environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Test plan design and execution across migrated services with AWS and GCP parity validation
- End-to-end test scenario design and execution across service, data, and messaging layers
- Observability validation including dashboard parity, alert firing, log and trace flow, OTEL telemetry, and PagerDuty routing
- Security validation covering IAM, Workload Identity, Secret Manager, TLS, Shielded VM, and audit logging controls
- Test case authoring and maintenance in JIRA and Confluence aligned with migration-wave scope
- Defect reporting, triage coordination, and fix verification during validation activities
- Data-backed scenario validation using SQL across relational and analytical databases
- Cross-functional collaboration with engineering teams on test scope definition and defect clarification
- Test evidence preparation and reporting to support migration acceptance processes
REQUIREMENTS
- 3+ years of quality control experience in backend services and distributed systems
- Functional testing proficiency including test plan design, test case authoring, and regression execution
- End-to-end testing experience across services, data stores, and event-driven message flows
- Strong observability validation expertise including dashboard parity, alert firing, log and trace flow, OTEL checks, PagerDuty routing, and audit trail verification
- Security validation expertise across IAM, RBAC, Workload Identity, Secret Manager, TLS, Shielded VMs, Artifact Registry, and organizational policies
- Experience with Security Command Center and gcloud/Terraform plan verification for IAM, firewall, and policy state validation
- SQL knowledge for data-backed validation across relational and analytical data stores
- Familiarity with Postman for manual REST API and messaging testing
- JIRA and Confluence proficiency for test management and defect tracking
- Analytical and detail-oriented approach to defect reproduction, documentation, and triage
- Strong communication skills for daily collaboration with English-speaking client-side software engineers
- Familiarity with test automation concepts and Python-based testing frameworks considered an advantage
