ABOUT THE ROLE
In this role, you will join a strategic healthcare integration initiative focused on enabling secure and reliable exchange of clinical and financial data within a HIPAA-regulated environment. You will design, develop, deploy, and maintain healthcare interface solutions using industry-leading integration engines such will work across the full integration stack, g transformation logic, routing, filtering, and error handling
- Stand up and manage middleware on AWS, including EC2 instances and containerized deployments via ECS / Fargate
- Build and maintain integrations with Oracle databases and third-party systems, including payment/billing systems and external healthcare platforms
- Develop and support FHIR-based and HIPAA-compliant integrations, ensuring PHI is handled securely in transit and at rest
- Deploy and promote middleware across multiple environments (dev, test, staging, production) with repeatable, controlled release processes
- Lead the migration of existing LUA-based integrations, including analysis, refactoring, testing, and cutover
- Monitor interface health, troubleshoot message failures, and tune performance and reliability
- Document interface specifications, data mappings, and operational runbooks
REQUIREMENTS
- Hands-on experience with Mirth Connect and Rhapsody in production environments
- Scripting experience in JavaScript (Mirth transformers) and LUA (Rhapsody)
- Strong knowledge of healthcare interoperability standards including HL7 v2.x, FHIR, and ideally CDA or CCD
- Solid understanding of HIPAA requirements and secure handling of PHI
- Experience working with AWS services: EC2, ECS and Fargate
- Proficiency with SQL and Oracle databases (queries, stored procedures, connectivity)
- Experience in integrating with third-party and payment systems via REST, SOAP, MLLP, SFTP, etc.
- Familiarity with CI/CD, version Git, and multi-environment deployment practices
- Experience migrating LUA-based logic (as a strong plus)
- Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker, as well as Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools including Terraform and AWS CloudFormation (would be beneficial)
- Practice with monitoring/observability tooling for interface engines (nice to have)
- Prior work in a regulated healthcare or fintech environment (as n advantage)
