About the role
You will join SoftServe’s R&D team to drive applied research in deep learning and computer vision, turning advanced ideas into feasible prototypes and technology demos. Working at the intersection of academic research and business needs, you will shape new research directions and present outcomes to global technology and scientific communities.
Responsibilities
- Verify research, implement it, and make feasibility studies and proof of concepts on proposed technological advances in the research area
- Proactively propose and implement new technologies and trends, studying and adapting based on marketing needs and the latest technology trends
- Be able to propose and implement the technological vision in new areas of research by prototyping and creating deep technological demos
- Handle the full spectrum of the research process: from hypothesis and academic presentation to architecture and development of a technology-based product
- Proactively propose external and internal research events (conferences, etc.) for a work presentation
- Coordinate and run presentations of work at external events: conferences, meetups, and specialized events
- Consult external and internal clients on technologies, solutions, and trends
- Align research field to business area domain demands
- Use proven innovation consulting methodologies to propose cutting-edge technological solutions for solving customers' problems
- Support business development efforts: marketing, presentations, presales, etc.
Requirements
- A senior engineer with 3+ years in OpenCV, and deep learning or computer vision
- Having at least a year of practical experience with transformers and diffusion models, especially Stable Diffusion
- Holding a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Science (Applied Mathematics, Physics or equivalent are preferred)
- Proficient in fine-tuning models to produce high-quality, tailored assets: generating precise textures, filling voids, upscaling, and transforming images
- Professional in at least one deep learning framework such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or Caffe
- An expert in one or multiple domains including 3D computer vision, neural network compression, anomaly detection, image enhancement, and digital signal processing
- Highly skilled in C++ and Python, coupled with Cloud fundamentals in GCP, AWS, or Azure
- Aware of mathematical concepts encompassing geometry, advanced linear algebra, probability, statistics, algorithms, and data structures
- Holding a deep understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and programming best practices
- Understanding modern software development company operations
- Familiar with research processes, methodologies, and instruments
- Understanding the functioning and collaboration practices within academic research institutions
- Proficient in verbal and written English (Upper-Intermediate)
