Product Manager

Job Profile Summary

The Product Manager is responsible for understanding the market, users, and technology specifics to identify and prioritize needs and problems to be addressed. This role involves shaping the product vision and strategy, defining the product roadmap, and organizing product development around hypothesis testing and validation. The Product Manager oversees the launch and maintenance of the product, analyzes its performance, and makes data-driven decisions for product growth and enhancement. Additionally, the role includes supporting and training the product team and related business units, managing stakeholder expectations, and acting as a product ambassador.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Product Lifecycle Management: oversee the product through its lifecycle stages, ensuring alignment with business objectives
  • Market Research and Analysis: investigate market ecosystems to identify opportunities, define the addressable market size, and determine product positioning
  • Business Acumen: align product development with the company’s goals, needs, and strategy, defining and validating business problem statements and building data-driven business cases
  • Customer Discovery: define, test, and validate user and buyer personas, engage with customers to understand their needs, and develop strategies based on insights
  • Hypothesis Validation: establish problem statements, gather validation data using appropriate techniques, and assist in assessing product-market fit
  • Prioritization: assess the business value of features and problems, prioritize them, and coordinate the execution of engineering efforts accordingly
  • Road mapping: create and communicate the strategic product roadmap, ensuring alignment with the technical roadmap and tracking execution
  • Product Pricing: analyze pricing models and cost structures, propose monetization strategies, and monitor pricing performance for necessary adjustments
  • Product Design: conduct user research, participate in usability testing, interpret data for UI/UX improvements, and collaborate with designers on solutions
  • Product Marketing: collaborate with marketing teams to prepare content for campaigns, review materials, and suggest appropriate communication channels
  • Product Launch: analyze and propose launch timing, monitor development progress, ensure customer-facing units are prepared, and define and track launch KPIs
  • Product Analytics: determine, collect, and analyze product and growth metrics, using analytics tools to inform data-driven decisions
  • Customer Acquisition and Channel Support: define the buying journey, refine value propositions, and support pre-sales activities with appropriate materials
  • Product maintenance: analyze customer feedback, collaborate with customer-facing units to resolve issues, and lead cross-functional teams to meet product milestones on time and within budget
  • Demo and Presentation: develop and deliver product demos and presentations tailored to specific audiences, demonstrating deep product knowledge
  • Stakeholder Management: identify stakeholders, manage their engagement, resolve conflicts, and ensure clear communication throughout the product lifecycle
  • Company-Wide Initiatives: mentor junior staff, lead product management training sessions, and drive organizational initiatives
  • Data Management: ensure secure customer data management per project guidelines, including data collection, exchange, storage, retention, and deletion

Preferred Competencies & Experience

  • 3-5 years of experience in software product development
  • Proven track record in managing cross-functional product teams and applying data and value-driven decision-making
  • Experience with international companies, enterprise environments, and product-related tools (e.g., CRM systems, BI tools, aha, product board, etc.)
  • Comprehensive understanding of product and software development life cycles
  • Familiarity with technology trends and skills to transform them into valuable use cases for the product and the organization. Strong analytical skills for processing large amounts of data into actionable insights
  • Expertise in project management concepts and business process modeling
  • Experience in managing product teams and working with international and enterprise companies

Qualifications

  • Education: Master’s degree or higher in a relevant field. Degree in Computer Science or a related discipline (desirable). Business education is advantageous
  • Certifications: Professional certifications such as GoPractice or Pragmatic Marketing Certified (PMC) III are desirable
