ABOUT THE ROLE
In this role, you will join the client's SD-WAN/Networking product team as a Test Automation Engineer, embedded early in the development lifecycle. You will validate SD-WAN, Splunk, and cloud deployments through a mix of manual and automated testing across API, GUI, and CLI, using the team's internal Vitest infrastructure and Cyrus. You will be involved in the development process from the outset, helping shape test coverage and validation strategies before formal feature handoff.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Engage with the development team from the start of the development cycle, participating in early handoffs rather than waiting for feature completion
- Test SD-WAN, Splunk, and cloud deployments across largely virtualized environments
- Perform both manual and automated testing across API, GUI, and CLI layers
- Build, maintain, and extend test automation in Python
- Execute and maintain API-focused tests using the internal Vitest infrastructure
- Use Cyrus as a core part of the day-to-day testing workflow
- Take ownership of assigned test areas and work independently, with guidance available from an internal team lead
- Report and track defects, and collaborate with developers to clarify requirements and edge cases
REQUIREMENTS
- 4+ years of relevant testing and automation experience
- Solid, practical understanding of application testing principles and methodology
- Working knowledge of SD-WAN concepts and general networking fundamentals
- Prior hands-on exposure to Cisco and/or SD-WAN technologies
- Strong Python knowledge, with hands-on automation experience building and maintaining test scripts or frameworks
- Comfortable testing across API, GUI, and CLI interfaces
- Experience testing in virtualized or cloud-based environments
- Intermediate level of English for effective communication
- Experience with Cyrus and Vitest, or similar API testing infrastructure, is a plus
