ABOUT THE ROLE
In this role, you will contribute to a cloud modernization initiative focused on migrating data integration solutions from Azure to Google Cloud Platform. You will work with modern GCP data services to build and support scalable data pipelines, participate in migration activities, and help ensure reliable and efficient data processing across cloud environments. Working alongside architects, engineers, and database specialists, you will contribute to the successful delivery of a modernized data platform.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Execute the migration and modernization of existing Azure Data Factory (ADF) data pipelines and workflows into Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- Develop and configure data integration jobs utilizing Cloud Data Fusion, Cloud Functions, and Cloud Scheduler to replace legacy Azure Logic App logic
- Actively leverage AI utilities and automated translation tools to accelerate, automate, and validate code translation (e.g., ADF or LogicApps to corresponding GCP services, T-SQL stored procedures to GoogleSQL, JSON to YAML)
- Build data quality and validation scripts to verify bit-for-bit parity and row-count integrity between source Azure environments and target GCP storage/databases
- Maintain and update deployment pipelines using CI/CD processes, ensuring smooth infrastructure-as-code transitions during the migration lifecycle
- Document mapping logic, connection configuration profiles, and cutover procedures to support the long-term maintenance of the new GCP data platform
REQUIREMENTS
- 3+ years of experience in Data Engineering or related fields
- Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform data services such as BigQuery, Dataflow, Cloud Data Fusion, Cloud Composer, Cloud Functions, or Cloud Workflows
- Strong SQL skills and experience working with relational databases such as SQL Server or Cloud SQL
- Experience developing and maintaining data pipelines and data integration solutions
- Familiarity with CI/CD practices and deployment automation processes
- Experience with Azure Data Factory or similar data integration technologies
- Understanding of data validation, testing, and data quality assurance practices
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Upper-intermediate or higher level of English
- Exposure to Power BI or other reporting and analytics tools (as a plus)
