ABOUT THE ROLE
In this role, you will combine hands-on engineering with technical leadership. You will be responsible for building and supporting data integration solutions on Snowflake and serving as the client's primary technical point of contact. You will gather and refine requirements, mentor and support the engineering team, review code, and work closely with the Data Architect to ensure data quality, reliability, and scalability across the platform.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Gather, analyse, and refine business and technical requirements in direct collaboration with the client
- Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines and transformations in Snowflake
- Implement ELT processes, including pipeline orchestration, and write high-quality, maintainable SQL
- Build data transformations using dbt and Jinja templating
- Lead, mentor, and support the engineering team, fostering knowledge sharing and professional growth by conducting code reviews and enforcing engineering best practices
- Investigate and resolve technical issues, performing root-cause analysis and driving timely remediation
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of data engineering standards
REQUIREMENTS
- 7+ years of experience in Data Engineering or related fields
- Strong expertise in AWS cloud services and Snowflake
- Advanced proficiency in Python and SQL
- Proven experience in a lead or senior data engineering role, including team leadership and mentoring
- Strong background in dbt (including Jinja templating)
- Hands-on experience with Apache Airflow and Apache Kafka
- Solid understanding of ELT concepts, data pipelines, and orchestration
- Experience gathering requirements and working directly with clients and stakeholders
- Excellent communication, leadership, and mentoring skills
- Upper-intermediate or higher level of English
