ABOUT THE ROLE
In this role, you will lead the development and evolution of scalable data platforms, combining technical leadership with hands-on Data Engineering expertise. You will work closely with engineering teams and business stakeholders to shape data solutions, ensure high standards of data quality and governance, and support reliable delivery of data initiatives across the organization.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead and mentor Data Engineers, promoting collaboration, knowledge sharing, and engineering best practices
- Contribute to the technical direction and roadmap of the data platform, aligning engineering initiatives with business objectives
- Design and oversee implementation of scalable data pipelines, data warehouses, and data lake solutions
- Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to translate requirements into effective data solutions and delivery plans
- Establish and maintain data governance, data quality, CI/CD, and documentation practices
- Support the reliability, performance, scalability, and cost efficiency of data infrastructure
- Guide technical design and implementation activities across complex Data Engineering initiatives
- Evaluate emerging Data Engineering technologies and contribute to continuous platform and engineering improvements
REQUIREMENTS
- 8+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Data Warehousing, or related fields
- Experience leading and mentoring Data Engineering teams, including 2+ years of people management experience
- Strong expertise in modern data architectures, data warehousing, and scalable data pipeline design, with Snowflake experience preferred
- Hands-on experience with technologies such as Snowflake, dbt, Fivetran, PostgreSQL/Azure SQL, Airflow, and Python
- Experience with Azure data technologies, including Microsoft Fabric and/or Azure Data Factory
- Strong understanding of relational and NoSQL databases, data modeling, and SQL
- Proven experience establishing and maintaining data governance, data quality, and engineering best practices
- Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences
- Experience within Healthcare or Human Services is a plus
