ABOUT THE ROLE
In this role, you will work alongside senior engineering leaders to accelerate delivery across data platform and cloud modernization initiatives. You will combine hands-on development with AI-assisted engineering and automation to boost productivity and reduce repetitive work. As a Lead Data Platform Engineer, you will shape engineering practices and contribute to complex backend and data solutions.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop backend services, automation tools, and data pipelines using Python, Java, and AWS services to deliver scalable and reliable solutions
- Take ownership of engineering tasks to improve delivery speed, reduce manual effort, and enhance system performance across modernization initiatives
- Collaborate closely with senior engineers, architects, and stakeholders through pair programming and daily technical alignment
- Build and maintain cloud-native data ingestion, transformation, and processing solutions in AWS environments
- Identify repetitive workflows and design AI-assisted solutions to automate development, testing, and operational activities
- Support migration of legacy and on-premise systems to modern cloud-native architectures
- Work with Kubernetes, Kafka, PostgreSQL, Amazon S3, SNS, SQS, EKS, and GitHub Actions to support production systems
- Mentor engineers, promote best practices, and drive adoption of AI-assisted engineering approaches and reusable automation patterns
REQUIREMENTS
- 7+ years of experience in Software, Backend, or Data Engineering roles
- Strong proficiency in Python and practical experience with Java
- Hands-on experience building cloud-native applications and data solutions on AWS
- Experience with Kubernetes, containerization, and modern deployment practices
- Practical knowledge of messaging systems such as Apache Kafka
- Experience with PostgreSQL, AWS RDS, and backend or data processing services
- Experience working with Git, GitHub Actions, and CI/CD pipelines
- Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools and applying AI in engineering workflows
- Strong collaboration, communication, and mentoring skills with upper-intermediate English or higher
