ABOUT THE ROLE
In this role, you will take ownership of designing and evolving an enterprise-scale data platform on Google Cloud Platform for a leading US-based healthcare services provider. Working within SoftServe’s Big Data & Analytics Center of Excellence, you will operate at the intersection of strategy and hands-on delivery, shaping modern data solutions that support scalability, reliability, and data mesh adoption.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design high-level and low-level data platform architecture on Google Cloud Platform, ensuring alignment with evolving business and technical requirements
- Own and evolve the enterprise data platform, improving scalability, reliability, and support for new analytical and operational use cases
- Collaborate closely with data engineers, enterprise architects, and business stakeholders to translate business needs into effective technical solutions
- Build and extend data platform components using GCP services such as BigQuery, Dataflow, Composer, Dataform, Dataplex, and GKE
- Define and promote platform-level standards, tooling, and best practices to support a modern data mesh architecture
- Provide architectural guidance and hands-on support to engineering teams, unblocking delivery risks and ensuring solution quality
- Drive Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD practices using Terraform and GitLab CI to ensure repeatable and secure deployments
- Mentor and coach engineers and cross-functional teams, contributing to technical growth and long-term platform maturity
REQUIREMENTS
- 3+ years of experience as a Data Platform Architect or similar role
- Strong expertise in designing and operating enterprise data platforms on Google Cloud Platform
- Hands-on experience with services such as BigQuery, Dataflow, Composer, Dataform, Dataplex, and GKE
- Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code with Terraform and CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI
- Programming and scripting skills in Java, Python, or Bash
- Solid understanding of databases, distributed systems, and data engineering fundamentals
- Experience with modern cloud data architectures and data mesh concepts
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to communicate complex topics clearly
- Fluent English communication skills at Upper-Intermediate level or higher
