Data Centre Engineer

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a Data Centre Engineer to support the deployment, maintenance, and operation of critical data centre infrastructure. In this role, you will ensure the availability, performance, and reliability of data centre environments while contributing to infrastructure projects, operational excellence, and continuous improvement initiatives. You will work closely with internal teams, vendors, and clients to maintain secure, scalable, and high-performing infrastructure that supports business operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Install, configure, and maintain data centre hardware, including servers, storage systems, network equipment, and supporting infrastructure
  • Monitor the health, availability, and performance of data centre environments, identifying and resolving issues before they impact operations
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, network, storage, power, and connectivity incidents, ensuring minimal downtime and service disruption
  • Perform hardware upgrades, replacements, repairs, and preventative maintenance activities while adhering to operational standards and best practices
  • Support data centre deployments, migrations, rack installations, and infrastructure expansion projects across multiple locations
  • Maintain accurate technical documentation, asset inventories, cabling records, operational procedures, and change management activities
  • Collaborate with internal technical teams, vendors, and clients to coordinate maintenance, resolve issues, and deliver infrastructure improvements
  • Ensure compliance with security, safety, and operational requirements, while participating in incident response and on-call support activities as needed

REQUIREMENTS

  • 3+ years of experience as a Data Centre Engineer, Infrastructure Engineer, or in a similar hands-on infrastructure role
  • Experience working with server, storage, and networking technologies in enterprise or data centre environments
  • Strong understanding of data centre operations, including cabling, power distribution, cooling systems, rack management, and physical infrastructure
  • Hands-on experience with hardware installation, configuration, troubleshooting, maintenance, and equipment replacement
  • Familiarity with Windows and Linux server environments and related administration tasks
  • Knowledge of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, routing, switching, connectivity troubleshooting, and network diagnostics
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify root causes and resolve technical issues efficiently
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work across cross-functional teams and external partners
  • Availability and willingness to travel for up to two weeks per month and participate in on-call support when required
