ABOUT THE ROLE
In this role, you will support and evolve a large-scale global network infrastructure across multiple datacenters. Working with complex network environments, you will help drive operational excellence through troubleshooting, performance optimization, and network scalability initiatives.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage network infrastructure while applying deep knowledge of Layer 2 (switching) and Layer 3 (routing) protocols
- Troubleshoot network systems and performance issues
- Analyze packet captures and use protocol analysis tools to investigate and resolve application response time problems
- Handle complex technical network operations and connectivity issues escalated to the network team
- Take on challenges like scaling the network and adding new features to support diverse applications and services demanded by our customers
- Explore and contribute to network automation opportunities that improve operational efficiency and simplify day-to-day network management
REQUIREMENTS
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in network engineering within large distributed environments
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, Layer 2/Layer 3 networking, VLANs, trunks, STP, LACP and Nexus vPC
- Strong hands-on experience with OSPF, EIGRP and BGP, including routing troubleshooting and route redistribution
- Experience with enterprise routing platforms such as Cisco ASR 9000/ASR 1000 or similar
- Experience with firewalls, ACLs, NAT and IPsec VPNs; Cisco ASA/Firepower experience is a plus
- Good Layer 1 troubleshooting skills, including optics, SFP/QSFP modules, power levels, CRC errors and link issues
- Experience with out-of-band management and network monitoring tools
- Familiarity with load balancers such as A10, F5 or similar
- Strong Linux/Unix command-line skills
- Ability to troubleshoot end-to-end network issues across routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs and load balancers
- Intermediate English or higher
