ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Manual QA Engineer, you will help ensure the quality of large-scale grant and expert management systems in a European public-sector environment. You will test complex workflows across applications, APIs, databases, integrations, and performance-sensitive components, working closely with business analysts, developers, and support teams to deliver reliable solutions.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Define test plans, scope, priorities, scenarios, and test cases, validating user stories, acceptance criteria, business logic, dependencies, and edge cases
- Prepare and manage realistic test data and apply exploratory testing, equivalence partitioning, boundary value analysis, and static and dynamic testing techniques
- Execute functional, regression, integration, UAT, and end-to-end testing across complex enterprise workflows and integrated systems
- Perform API testing with SoapUI, backend data validation with complex SQL queries, and structured-data checks across XML and related formats
- Use JMeter for performance testing and Selenium for basic test execution support, identifying issues that affect system quality and reliability
- Investigate defects across application, API, database, and log layers, using Kibana for log analysis and troubleshooting where required
- Capture test results, screenshots, logs, and supporting evidence; manage tests and defects in Jira and Zephyr with full traceability
- Collaborate with business analysts, developers, and support teams to clarify expected behaviour and support test reporting and progress tracking
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, 7+ years of professional IT experience, and manual testing expertise
- Strong test planning/design and acceptance criteria validation, including exploratory testing, equivalence partitioning, boundary value analysis, and static/dynamic testing
- Experience with Jira and Zephyr for test/defect management and SoapUI for API testing
- Strong SQL, Oracle SQL Developer, and complex queries for test data preparation and backend validation
- Experience with Kibana for logs; XML/structured data using XML Notepad, Notepad++, or similar; and JMeter for performance testing
- Basic Selenium skills plus functional, regression, integration, UAT, and end-to-end testing experience
- Experience with Agile/Scrum and familiarity with ChatGPT or Generative AI for test case optimization
- Ability to troubleshoot application, API, database, and log layers, with strong documentation, communication, and collaboration skills
- English at B2+; French is an asset
