ABOUT THE ROLE
In this role, you will lead the design and implementation of automated data testing solutions for large-scale Big Data platforms in the healthcare insurance domain. Working with a leading US-based health insurance provider, you will partner closely with Big Data engineers to ensure data quality, reliability, and stability across complex distributed systems.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design and implement automated data validation strategies for large-scale Big Data platforms, ensuring high data quality and pipeline reliability
- Own end-to-end data testing frameworks, improving system stability, data integrity, and confidence in data-driven decisions
- Collaborate closely with Big Data engineers, developers, and stakeholders to validate data transformations, pipelines, and processing logic
- Build and maintain scalable automation frameworks using Python, Spark, and SQL for distributed data validation
- Perform deep data analysis to identify inconsistencies, anomalies, and quality issues across large datasets
- Develop and maintain utilities for data anonymization, cleanup, validation, and test reporting in sensitive data environments
- Integrate automated testing into data pipelines to support continuous quality assurance and delivery
- Mentor QA engineers, promote automation-first practices, and contribute to technical leadership within the team
REQUIREMENTS
- 6+ years of experience in automated testing with a strong focus on automation‑first approaches
- 2+ years of hands-on experience working with Big Data concepts, architectures, and ecosystems
- 2+ years of practical experience with Apache Spark for validating distributed data processing and data pipelines
- Advanced SQL knowledge with 4+ years of experience performing complex data validation, transformations, and large-scale data analysis
- Strong Python proficiency with 4+ years of commercial experience building scalable test automation frameworks and data validation utilities
- Experience in designing and implementing automated data validation frameworks rather than manual-heavy testing approaches
- Understanding of data anonymization techniques and best practices when working with sensitive data
- Familiarity with Databricks and Azure-based data platforms is a plus
- Experience acting as a technical leader, mentoring QA engineers, and promoting best practices in automation
- Strong collaboration skills and ability to work closely with data engineers, developers, and stakeholders
- Fluent English communication skills at an upper-intermediate level for collaboration with distributed engineering teams
