ABOUT THE ROLE
In this role, you will join SoftServe and collaborate with a UK-based financial services startup that is building an AI-native challenger bank dedicated to the sport, leisure, and wellbeing ecosystem. The platform is designed to become the financial home for UK sport, offering digital banking, insurance, rewards, funding, and financial management solutions for clubs, athletes, fans, and community organizations. You will play a key role in building a modern, mobile-first banking platform from the ground up, leveraging cloud-native technologies, AI-powered services, and integrations with leading banking providers.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Play key role in the development of an AI-native digital banking solution from scratch
- Own key functionality and user journeys within the mobile application while providing technical guidance, code reviews, and knowledge sharing to team members
- Design, develop, and evolve a banking mobile application supporting accounts, balances, transactions, card issuing, deposits, credits, regulatory compliance, and other core banking capabilities
- Contribute to setting up engineering best practices across the project
- Collaborate closely with distributed cross-functional teams in an agile environment
- Continuously enhance your technical expertise by adopting modern mobile development practices and leveraging agentic-assisted development approaches
REQUIREMENTS
- Deep expertise in React Native, TypeScript, modern JavaScript (ES6+), and mobile application architecture
- Deep knowledge of Redux, Redux Toolkit or alternative application state management library; navigation with deep linking
- Experience with RESTful APIs, versioning, mocking and API-first approach
- Proficiency with mobile UI/UX patterns, styling and following design defined by UI/UX designer
- Experience establishing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and managing mobile application releases through Apple App Store and Google Play Storage
- Expertise integrating third-party and vendor SDKs, including Microsoft Entra External ID (MSAL React Native) for authentication and identity management
- Knowledge of accessibility standards and inclusive design principles
- Practice in analytics, crash reporting and monitoring tools
- Track record in performance optimization and security hardening of mobile apps
- Experience working with remote, globally distributed teams
- English proficiency at strong intermediate level or higher
- Experience with agentic-assisted development (advantageous)
- Experience with greenfield complex projects (as a plus)
- Regulated industry experience e.g. banking, payments, insurance, fintech, healthcare, or similar (as a win)
