ABOUT THE ROLE
In this role, you will design and deliver data ingestion pipelines that enable AI‑assisted inspections and engineering‑grade spatial analysis for an advanced digital twin platform. You will work at the intersection of geospatial engineering, LiDAR, and enterprise infrastructure, turning complex operational data into scalable, consumable assets. The project combines immersive visualization with intelligent asset management in the energy domain.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design and implement scalable ingestion pipelines for geospatial and LiDAR data, ensuring reliable flow from raw inputs to queryable assets
- Own end-to-end ingestion workflows, improving performance, data quality, and system reliability across large-scale datasets
- Collaborate with DevOps, QA, and architects to align workflows with infrastructure, validation strategies, and business requirements
- Develop backend services using Python and FastAPI to process, transform, and expose spatial data via APIs
- Build and optimize storage solutions using PostgreSQL and PostGIS, enabling efficient querying and geospatial analysis
- Enhance the performance of spatial queries and large data processing workloads through tuning and architectural improvements
- Define data models, processing standards, and validation strategies to ensure consistency across workflows
- Identify and manage risks related to data volume, dependencies, and system scalability, communicating proactively with stakeholders
REQUIREMENTS
- Strong proficiency in Python, including asynchronous programming and frameworks such as FastAPI
- Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL, including schema design and query optimization at scale
- Solid expertise in PostGIS and spatial SQL, including functions like ST_Intersects, bounding box queries, and GeoJSON processing
- Experience working with geospatial datasets, including ingestion, transformation, and storage
- Understanding of LiDAR data and remote sensing workflows
- Proficiency in optimizing performance in data-intensive environments with large-scale datasets
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Experience collaborating in cross-functional teams within engineering environments
- Clear communication skills for engaging with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
