ABOUT THE ROLE
In this role, you will own the stability and performance of a live, customer-facing hiring events platform operating across multiple U.S. time zones. You will work in high‑impact production environments where your decisions directly affect live hiring events and client experience. You will take end‑to‑end ownership, operate autonomously, and influence how the platform evolves and scales.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Analyze and resolve production issues affecting live hiring events, taking ownership of investigation, resolution, and follow‑up to protect customer experience
- Own backend services supporting hiring events, ensuring stability, reliability, and smooth operation during high‑volume, time‑critical workflows
- Collaborate closely with Client Support, GTM, Product, and Engineering teams to triage issues, align priorities, and deliver timely resolutions
- Develop, maintain, and support Python and Django backend applications across multiple services and integrations
- Troubleshoot and maintain event‑driven workflows, including Kafka‑based systems and asynchronous processing
- Build and support GraphQL APIs and backend services while validating and investigating data using SQL and MongoDB
- Monitor production systems, respond to alerts and incidents, and support deployments, releases, and architecture changes
- Lead, mentor, onboard, and support other engineers while guiding code merges, deployments, and production stability activities
REQUIREMENTS
- Strong experience with Python and Django development for backend systems and services, with 5+ years of software engineering experience
- Proven experience supporting Event Management Backend and Lobby Backend applications in live production environments
- Hands‑on experience with Kafka and event‑driven backend architectures and asynchronous workflows
- Solid experience developing and maintaining GraphQL APIs and backend services
- Strong knowledge of SQL and/or MongoDB for data validation, investigation, and troubleshooting
- Experience with build, deployment, and release management processes in production systems
- Demonstrated ability to analyze production issues using logs, metrics, and data‑driven approaches
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, handle ambiguity, and prioritize effectively
- Strong leadership, mentoring, onboarding, communication, and cross‑functional collaboration skills
