ABOUT THE ROLE
In this role, you will contribute to the development of modern banking and lending solutions for a growing UK specialist bank serving SMEs and individual customers. Working within a cross-functional Agile team, you will help build scalable backend services, improve financial products, and influence technical decisions that enhance customer experience and business outcomes.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design and develop backend services and APIs using C#, ASP.NET Core, and microservices architecture to support banking and lending products
- Deliver high-quality software solutions, ensuring scalability, maintainability, performance, and alignment with business objectives
- Collaborate with product owners, business analysts, QA engineers, architects, and client stakeholders to define and implement technical solutions
- Build and optimize integrations between applications, services, and data platforms using engineering best practices
- Develop and maintain SQL database components, supporting efficient data processing and reliable system performance
- Implement automated testing strategies, including unit and API testing, to improve software quality and delivery confidence
- Drive CI/CD adoption and contribute to deployment automation within Azure cloud environments and modern DevOps practices
- Analyze business requirements, propose technical improvements, and contribute innovative ideas that enhance products and development processes
REQUIREMENTS
- Extensive experience (5+ years) in backend development using C# and ASP.NET Core
- Strong knowledge of API development and testing practices, including RESTful services and Postman
- Practical experience with SQL, including database design, querying, and performance optimization
- Good understanding of Azure cloud services or other public cloud platforms and their application in enterprise solutions
- Strong knowledge of SOLID principles, object-oriented design, and .NET design patterns
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and modern software delivery practices
- Working knowledge of microservices architecture and distributed systems design
- Experience with automated unit testing and software quality engineering practices
- Strong understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and structured problem-solving approaches
- Analytical mindset with the ability to understand business needs and translate them into effective technical solutions
- Adaptable, accountable, and collaborative working style within multicultural and distributed teams
- Confident communication skills in English, both written and verbal, while working directly with international clients
