ABOUT THE ROLE
In this role, you will contribute to the development of a scalable and secure near real-time data platform used by healthcare organizations to improve operational visibility and data-driven decision-making. Working within a global engineering team, you will design and evolve backend services, APIs, and platform components that process and deliver critical healthcare data while supporting reliability, scalability, and regulatory requirements in a highly regulated environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design and develop backend services and microservices using Go to support near real-time data processing and analytics capabilities
- Build and maintain APIs that enable reliable integration between platform components and downstream systems
- Own production services throughout their lifecycle, ensuring reliability, performance, observability, and operational excellence
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, product stakeholders, and data teams to deliver scalable platform capabilities aligned with business objectives
- Contribute to cloud-native solution design and deployment within AWS environments
- Improve system architecture, engineering practices, and service performance to support platform scalability and maintainability
- Participate in technical design discussions, code reviews, and architectural decision-making across multiple services
- Support modernization initiatives and contribute to Java-based services when required by evolving platform needs
REQUIREMENTS
- Strong experience developing backend applications and distributed systems using Go with at least 5 years in software engineering roles
- Solid understanding of software engineering fundamentals, including system design, code quality, testing, and maintainability
- Proven experience designing and building APIs and microservices for production environments
- Practical experience owning and supporting production services, including monitoring, troubleshooting, and operational improvements
- Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services and cloud-native application development
- Basic proficiency in TypeScript and ability to contribute to service integrations when needed
- Strong communication and collaboration skills within cross-functional engineering teams
- Experience with Java development and willingness to contribute to Java-based services as part of platform evolution
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code approaches, including Terraform or AWS CDK, as an advantage
- Experience with multi-cloud environments or SDK development as an advantage
