ABOUT THE ROLE
In this role, you will help shape a next-generation IoT data ingestion and processing platform for a global micromobility and smart fleet provider. Working within SoftServe’s IoT Group, you will focus on building scalable backend services that process real-time telemetry and integrate seamlessly across Edge-to-Cloud environments. You will contribute to production-grade systems that enable reliable, high-load IoT operations at scale
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design and develop Go-based backend services that power IoT and Edge-to-Cloud solutions with a focus on real-time data processing and telemetry reliability
- Own the delivery and quality of microservices, ensuring scalability, performance, and fault tolerance in high-load distributed systems
- Collaborate closely with architects, senior engineers, and cross-functional teams to evolve system architecture and align technical solutions with business goals
- Build, maintain, and optimize event-driven microservices using modern cloud-native patterns and best practices
- Participate actively in code reviews, technical discussions, and sprint planning to drive continuous improvement and shared ownership
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues, contributing to system stability and operational excellence
- Apply best practices in cloud infrastructure, data processing, security, and service design across the solution lifecycle
- Continuously grow technical expertise and take ownership of complex features or components within the platform
REQUIREMENTS
- Strong commercial experience with Go and backend development, with at least 5 years in software engineering roles
- Hands-on experience designing and implementing scalable backend services and contributing to architecture decisions
- Practical knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure and commonly used backend services
- Experience building microservices and event-driven systems with a solid understanding of distributed architectures
- Confidence working with concurrency, performance optimization, and scalable service patterns
- Familiarity with data formats such as JSON and Protobuf, and messaging systems like MQTT as a plus
- Experience using Docker and Kubernetes in development and deployment workflows
- Understanding of SDLC, Agile practices, clean code, and clean architecture principles
- Proactive, accountable mindset with strong collaboration and communication skills, and English proficiency at B2 level or higher
