ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Senior Data Engineer, you will design and deliver scalable data platforms that support advanced analytics and data-driven decision-making. You will work within SoftServe’s Big Data & Analytics Center of Excellence, collaborating with global clients and engineering teams to build end-to-end data solutions from concept to production.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design, build, and maintain robust data pipelines and data platforms that support large-scale analytics and business-critical use cases
- Own end-to-end data engineering solutions, ensuring performance, reliability, and scalability across cloud environments
- Collaborate closely with data engineers, architects, DevOps, and client stakeholders to translate business needs into technical implementations
- Develop and optimize data processing workflows using Python, PySpark, and Databricks
- Implement and manage streaming and batch data pipelines using Kafka and cloud-native services
- Apply infrastructure as code practices with Terraform and containerization using Docker to support repeatable and reliable deployments
- Contribute to architectural decisions, proofs of concept, and technical design across the full project lifecycle
- Share knowledge and best practices within the team, supporting continuous improvement and engineering excellence
REQUIREMENTS
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in Data Engineering with a focus on scalable data pipelines
- Strong proficiency in Python and PySpark for large-scale data processing
- Practical experience with Databricks in production environments
- Hands-on experience with AWS services or other cloud platforms such as GCP or Azure
- Solid knowledge of Kafka and modern data pipeline architectures
- Experience with infrastructure as code using Terraform and containerization with Docker
- Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools for coding, testing, or code review is a plus
- Upper-intermediate or higher English level for daily communication with international clients and teams
- Strong problem-solving skills, ownership mindset, and ability to work effectively in collaborative environments
