ABOUT THE ROLE
In this role, you'll build the C++ front-end for a hardware label printer, working directly with a global materials science leader whose products serve retail, industrial, medical, and apparel markets worldwide. You'll shape the Qt6/QML desktop application experience and help bring RFID and printing technology to life for major global brands.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop the C++ front-end application using Qt6/QML (JavaScript) to power a hardware label printer, improving usability and reliability for end users
- Build and maintain communication layers with Google RPC (gRPC) to connect the application with backend services, ensuring stable data exchange
- Collaborate closely with the client's engineering team to translate hardware requirements into a smooth, responsive UI/UX experience
- Design and maintain Linux desktop applications using Qt, optimizing performance across the platform
- Integrate application logic with Cortex-A microprocessors, ensuring compatibility between software and embedded hardware
- Contribute to Mobility UX improvements, refining interaction patterns for on-device and mobile-oriented use cases
- Propose and implement improvements to the codebase, contributing your own solutions to enhance product quality
- Review code and share knowledge with the team to maintain high engineering standards
REQUIREMENTS
- 3+ years of experience writing clean, maintainable code in C++
- Proficiency with Qt6/QML (JavaScript) for building desktop applications
- Practical experience with Google RPC (gRPC) for service communication
- Hands-on experience developing Linux desktop applications using Qt
- Familiarity with Cortex-A microprocessors is an advantage
- Exposure to Mobility UX design principles is a nice-to-have
- Strong collaboration skills to work directly with client teams and cross-functional stakeholders
- Proficiency in proposing and driving your own technical solutions within a team
