ABOUT THE ROLE
In this role, you will drive the development, customization, and production support of an enterprise analytics platform built on Apache Superset, extending its capabilities through custom visualizations and plugins. You will contribute to both frontend and backend development while ensuring platform reliability, performance, and scalability, independently investigating complex technical issues and delivering robust solutions.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and customize Apache Superset functionality, including custom visualization plugins, charts, and UI enhancements
- Extend existing Superset frontend and backend components to address specific functional requirements
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues and provide ongoing production support for Apache Superset
- Investigate and resolve performance, stability, and reliability issues across the platform
- Work with Superset architecture and supporting components, including PostgreSQL, Redis, and Celery
- Review and improve existing platform architecture, configurations, and technical solutions
- Support deployment, configuration, and optimization of Apache Superset in containerized environments
- Integrate Superset with data sources such as PostgreSQL and Amazon Redshift
- Collaborate with engineering teams on platform enhancements, technical decisions, and ongoing improvements
- Contribute to code reviews, technical documentation, and engineering best practices
REQUIREMENTS
- At least 5+ years in software engineering, BI engineering, or analytics platform development
- Strong hands-on experience with Apache Superset, including implementation, customization, and production support
- Proven experience developing custom Superset visualization plugins, extending existing chart functionality, or modifying Superset source code
- Strong Python development skills, including backend debugging and working with APIs
- Experience with JavaScript/TypeScript and React for frontend development and customization
- Strong SQL skills and experience working with relational databases
- Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and Helm (Deployment, configuration, scaling, operations)
- Good communication skills and ability to collaborate with distributed engineering teams
- Experience with AWS services, particularly Amazon Redshift and CI/CD pipelines (nice-to-have)
- Upper-Intermediate (B2) English or higher
