About the role

As a Senior Test Automation Engineer, you will build and maintain the automated test suites behind information systems at our Client, a large international organisation. You will own automated coverage across UI, API, database, and end-to-end scenarios — building suites in Java, integrating them into the delivery pipeline, and reporting results so teams get fast, reliable feedback on build quality. The working environment is international and hybrid, combining remote and onsite collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test suites for web, API, database, and end-to-end scenarios using Java and the team's automation frameworks
• Own the reliability and coverage of the automated regression suite, maintaining it as the systems evolve and reporting results through dashboards
• Collaborate with cross-functional squads, including developers and analysts, to reproduce, isolate, and resolve defects with clear communication throughout
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to provide fast feedback on build quality
• Execute functional, regression, and UAT tests, capture evidence such as screenshots and logs, and reproduce defects
• Prepare and manage test data in relational databases, writing SQL queries for data validation and test data setup
• Design and run performance and load tests, and script routine test and environment tasks
• Apply risk-based testing to prioritise effort according to potential business impact, and produce clear, structured reports on test results and quality status

Requirements

• A university degree at master's level (or 5 years of higher education) with a minimum of 10 years of IT professional experience; or a degree at bachelor's level (or 3 years of higher education) with a minimum of 12 years
• 14 years of professional experience with test automation technologies and frameworks, including a combination of Selenium, Playwright, Postman, Groovy, and SOAP UI/Ready API, and techniques for web and API testing
• 14 years of professional experience with Java development for building test suites covering UI, database, and API end-to-end tests, with proficiency in a programming language for automation (e.g. Java, JavaScript, Groovy)
• 10 years of professional experience with a combination of JMeter, XML, SOAP, and REST, together with knowledge of performance and load testing concepts and tools (e.g. JMeter, LoadRunner)
• 10 years of professional experience with scripting languages (bash, batch, and similar)
• 10 years of professional experience with SQL and relational database testing (Postgres, Oracle, and similar), including test data management and preparation and writing SQL queries for data validation and test data setup
• 5 years of professional experience testing information systems using the UN/CEFACT FLUX standard, 5 years in an international organisation, 5 years testing applications running on AWS, and 1 year of AI with AWS Kiro or AWS Q
• Experience with test management tools (e.g. Jira, Zephyr) and defect tracking, executing functional, regression and UAT tests with evidence capture and defect reproduction, manual test design techniques (equivalence partitioning, boundary value analysis, state transition, exploratory) and acceptance criteria, risk-based testing methodologies, information system quality assurance and quality control practices and the information systems lifecycle, Agile methodologies, dashboard reporting and regression suite maintenance, and version control (Git) with integration of automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, AWS CodeDeploy)
• Very good knowledge of English, both spoken and written, corresponding to Level B2 or higher (CEFR), with proficiency in preparing clear, structured reports, the capacity to self-start and collaborate with cross-functional squads, to learn new applications, tools, frameworks and methodologies quickly, to integrate into international and multicultural teams, and to work both autonomously and within a hybrid remote and onsite team
