ABOUT THE ROLE
In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the release management process, ensuring smooth, predictable, and high-quality software releases across the organisation. You will coordinate Release Trains, manage deployment readiness, maintain operational procedures, and drive continuous improvements to release management practices, helping teams deliver software efficiently and reliably.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plan and manage Release Trains and release schedules across multiple teams and workstreams
- Coordinate release readiness activities and support go-live execution
- Create, maintain, and continuously improve deployment Runbooks, rollback plans, and release checklists
- Facilitate production deployments and coordinate post-release support activities
- Identify, manage, and communicate release risks, issues, dependencies, and mitigation plans
- Ensure operational readiness and alignment between development, QA, DevOps, and business stakeholders
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within release management processes and practices
- Support stakeholder communication throughout the release lifecycle
- Monitor release performance and contribute to delivery excellence and operational stability
REQUIREMENTS
- 3+ years of experience in Release Management, Technical Project Management, DevOps, or related roles
- Experience managing Release Trains and release planning activities
- Strong understanding of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), Agile methodologies, and DevOps practices
- Experience creating and maintaining deployment Runbooks, rollback procedures, and operational documentation
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and release automation tools
- Strong coordination, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Experience with Azure DevOps, Jira, Confluence, or similar delivery and collaboration tools
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliverables in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organisational, problem-solving, and risk management skills
- Availability to travel up to two weeks per month
