ABOUT THE ROLE
In this role, you will help build and evolve data and machine learning platform capabilities for one of the UK’s largest supermarket and grocery groups. Operating a nationwide network of supermarkets and convenience stores, the company also runs a banking arm and a major general merchandise retailer, delivering integrated retail, financial, and digital shopping experiences to millions of customers
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and maintain data and platform capabilities including data ingestion pipelines, DBT-based transformation frameworks, ML infrastructure components, monitoring solutions, and governance controls aligned with established technical standards
- Design and implement infrastructure as code using Terraform to deploy and manage cloud resources that support scalable data and machine learning platforms across multiple environments
- Perform configuration and management of cloud-based infrastructure and platform components while adhering to established architecture patterns and configuration standards
- Collaborate with senior engineers to implement platform improvements, troubleshoot issues, and ensure stable operation of data and ML services across environments
- Interact with cross‐functional teams including data engineers, ML engineers, and platform teams to support development, deployment, and monitoring of data and machine learning solutions
- Attend technical discussions and contribute to platform design decisions, helping refine patterns, standards, and best practices for data and ML infrastructure
REQUIREMENTS
- Strong Python programming skills with experience building and maintaining production-grade software solutions
- Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services and IAM configuration
- Practical knowledge of Infrastructure as Code using Terraform
- Experience working with data and platform components such as ingestion pipelines, transformation frameworks, or ML infrastructure
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines for automated deployment is a plus
- Proficiency in SQL for working with relational data is a plus
- Exposure to DSTS-related environments or processes is a plus
- Skills to collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts clearly
