ABOUT THE ROLE
Join a backend engineering team focused on building scalable, service-oriented applications with Java and the Spring ecosystem. In this role, you will take ownership of designing, developing, and enhancing backend services that power business-critical solutions, collaborating with engineers and stakeholders in a multicultural environment to deliver reliable, high-quality software. You will join a distributed engineering team developing next-generation cybersecurity products in partnership with a Silicon Valley technology leader.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs using Java and Spring Boot/Framework to support scalable and high-performing applications
- Take ownership of backend components, ensuring reliability, maintainability, and continuous improvement of system performance and functionality
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, QA engineers, architects, and stakeholders, to deliver business and technical objectives
- Build and enhance RESTful APIs and microservices while integrating internal and external platforms and services
- Write clean, efficient, and well-tested code following SOLID principles, development standards, and engineering best practices
- Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and architectural decision-making to promote code quality and knowledge sharing
- Troubleshoot, investigate, and resolve production issues, ensuring system stability and a positive user experience
- Utilize Git, Jira, and CI/CD practices to manage development workflows, track progress, and support efficient software delivery
REQUIREMENTS
- Strong hands-on experience with Java and the Spring ecosystem, including Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data, and Spring Security
- Solid expertise in REST API design, development, and microservices architecture
- Practical experience with relational and NoSQL databases, as well as ORM frameworks such as JPA and Hibernate
- Experience using Git and working with CI/CD pipelines in modern software delivery environments
- Familiarity with message brokers such as Kafka or RabbitMQ will be an advantage
- Knowledge of containerization technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes, is desirable
- Previous experience supporting networking-vendor solutions, such as SD-WAN vManage backend services or APIs, is a plus
- Understanding of DevSecOps practices and CI/CD security automation is beneficial
- Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to quality, and effective communication skills in English within a multicultural environment
