ABOUT THE ROLE
In this role you will join a long-term partnership with a leading New York-based software provider that develops products used by educators and school administrators across the United States. In this role, you will contribute to a web application focused on delivering meaningful assessment insights through a comprehensive statistics module, working within a collaborative team of 20 SoftServe and client-side professionals.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and enhance web application features using Node.js, Express, TypeScript, JavaScript, and React to support analytics and reporting capabilities
- Take ownership of code quality, maintainability, and performance to ensure reliable and scalable solutions for educational stakeholders
- Collaborate closely with engineers, client team members, and other project stakeholders to deliver business value and meet project goals
- Create reusable, efficient, and well-structured code following established engineering standards and best practices
- Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback and contributing to continuous improvement across the team
- Create, maintain, and update technical documentation to support knowledge sharing and long-term project sustainability
- Perform unit testing and assist with troubleshooting, debugging, and issue resolution using browser developer tools and modern IDEs
- Contribute to team learning initiatives, knowledge exchange activities, and ongoing adoption of new technologies and approaches
REQUIREMENTS
- Practical experience with Node.js, Express, and serverless application concepts
- Proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, and React for modern web application development
- Understanding of AWS concepts and cloud-based development environments
- Knowledge of SQL fundamentals and GraphQL concepts
- Familiarity with version control systems and issue-tracking tools such as Jira
- Experience using browser developer tools and modern development environments, preferably on macOS
- Solid understanding of software engineering principles, development practices, and application lifecycle activities
- Strong collaboration and communication skills with the ability to coordinate effectively with distributed teams
- Proactive mindset, willingness to learn new technologies, and commitment to continuous improvement
