ABOUT THE ROLE
In this role, you contribute to kernel- or driver-level code, working closely with the hardware/OS boundary, and collaborate with the broader engineering team to deliver stable, performant, low-level software.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design, develop, and maintain Linux kernel modules, drivers, or subsystems
- Debug and troubleshoot kernel-level issues, including crashes, memory corruption, and performance bottlenecks
- Write clean, efficient, well-documented C code following kernel coding standards
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to internal engineering standards and best practices
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (hardware, QA, product) to align kernel-level work with broader system requirements
- Analyze and optimize system performance, memory usage, and stability at the kernel level
REQUIREMENTS
- Strong experience with C programming, with at least 3 years of experience
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, routing, etc.
- Experience with Linux kernel internals (process scheduling, memory management, device drivers, synchronization mechanisms)
- Expertise with kernel debugging tools (e.g., gdb, kgdb, ftrace, kernel crash dump analysis)
- Familiarity with kernel module development and build systems (Kbuild/Makefiles)
- Strong understanding of low-level systems programming, memory management, and concurrency
- Ability to work independently with minimal guidance, given seniority level
- Intermediate or higher English level for daily communication with international clients and teams
