Lead Robotics Engineer (Space)

SoftServe Robotics Group is a team of engineers and researchers building advanced robotics solutions across terrestrial and space domains. The team works on mobile robots, robotic arms, drones, autonomous systems, high-fidelity simulation, and embedded robotics software.

The environment is supportive and collaborative, enabling continuous growth, experimentation, and influence on next-generation robotics solutions. As the group expands work in space robotics and simulation, the focus is on designing architectures for flight and ground systems, leading technical direction, and contributing to research and prototyping.

IF YOU ARE

  • Qualified with an MSc or PhD in a relevant field
  • Highly experienced in architecture and development of application software for flight and ground systems
  • Skilled in C/C++ and Python programming for embedded Linux systems
  • Directly experienced in satellite or spacecraft software development
  • Familiar with verification, validation, and integration of flight software
  • Experienced in working end-to-end from requirements to space-qualified, launch-ready products
  • Knowledgeable in simulation and automation of manufacturing processes such as rocket components and engines
  • Confident in technical presales, presentations, and C-level communication
  • Attentive to detail with strong analytical and mathematical foundations
  • Collaborative and hands-on, with strong teamwork skills and interest in knowledge sharing
  • Comfortable researching, learning, and applying modern robotics trends in navigation, sensing, decision-making, and mechanisms
  • Familiar with space environment constraints on computing hardware and software architecture
  • Experienced in designing or validating spacecraft flight, ground, or simulation software
  • Familiar with spacecraft communication protocols such as CCSDS, CAN, and SpaceWire
  • Experienced in building real-time and autonomous systems such as spacecraft, UAVs, or self-driving vehicles
  • Knowledgeable in simulation tools such as NVIDIA Isaac Sim, Omniverse, ANSYS, and MATLAB
  • Experienced with HITL testing or low-level interfacing with spacecraft components
  • Familiar with FPGA development, including VHDL or Verilog, Vivado, and ModelSim

AND YOU WANT TO

  • Design and develop solutions for space robotics systems including mobile robots, robotic arms, drones, and autonomous platforms
  • Build rapid prototypes and production-ready solutions for on-orbit, surface, industrial, or robotics systems
  • Test advanced robotics systems in simulation environments and real-world setups
  • Contribute to automated robotic systems beyond the space domain, including precision-driven manufacturing
  • Conduct research on robotics technologies in navigation, perception, decision-making, and mechanical performance
  • Support presales activities through technical workshops, architecture sessions, and client presentations
