ABOUT THE ROLE
In this role, you will lead the research and development of advanced NLP, LLM, and Agentic AI solutions that move from experimentation to production impact. Working within SoftServe’s R&D-focused AI initiatives, you will shape technical direction, influence innovation strategy, and drive the adoption of scalable, responsible AI systems across diverse domains.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Define and lead the development of advanced NLP, LLM, and Agentic AI solutions, ensuring high technical quality and real-world applicability
- Own the end-to-end R&D and delivery lifecycle, from research concepts to production-ready architectures that deliver measurable business impact
- Collaborate closely with product, engineering, and research teams to align AI innovation with organizational and client priorities
- Design novel multi-agent architectures, tool-use integrations, and retrieval-augmented generation pipelines for complex AI systems
- Architect scalable training, fine-tuning, and deployment workflows using cloud and distributed environments
- Establish best practices for model evaluation, MLOps, monitoring, and responsible AI in production settings
- Mentor and guide AI engineers and researchers, fostering technical excellence and knowledge sharing
- Communicate progress, insights, and complex AI concepts clearly to executives and external stakeholders
REQUIREMENTS
- 7+ years of hands-on experience in AI/ML, including 3+ years leading R&D and production-grade projects
- PhD or Master’s degree in Machine Learning, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent senior industry experience
- Deep expertise in NLP and LLMs, including training, fine-tuning, RAG, and large-scale evaluation
- Practical experience with Agentic AI systems, multi-agent orchestration, tool integration, and autonomous workflows
- Advanced Python skills, with working knowledge of C++ or Java for performance-critical components
- Strong experience with PyTorch, Hugging Face Transformers, LangChain, LlamaIndex, and vector databases
- Hands-on knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure), distributed training, quantization, and deployment optimization
- Familiarity with MLOps practices, CI/CD for ML, Docker, Kubernetes, and model lifecycle management
- Strong leadership, mentoring, and communication skills, with a commitment to ethical and responsible AI
