About the Role
Join SoftServe as a BI / Power BI professional and take ownership of the delivery and ongoing development of a client’s BI platform. The role combines hands-on delivery leadership with technical ownership, covering everything from individual BI products to the standards, patterns, and quality practices used across the wider BI ecosystem. You will work across multiple teams to ensure Power BI solutions are designed, tested, deployed, and scaled effectively.
Responsibilities
- Lead cross-functional teams delivering BI products for defined business areas
- Own and evolve standards and methodologies for Power BI design, QA, testing, deployment, and migration
- Establish reusable design patterns and ensure alignment across semantic models
- Develop repeatable approaches for migration, release management, and decommissioning
- Drive automation, platform adoption, and continuous improvement across BI teams
- Establish clear ownership and accountability across Product, Data Engineering, Modelling, Visualisation, and Testing
- Define and promote technical standards and best practices across the BI ecosystem
- Support the scalability, performance, and maintainability of BI solutions
Requirements
- 5+ years of hands-on expertise across the Power BI ecosystem, including Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, Microsoft Fabric, semantic models, and paginated reports
- 2+ years of leadership experience
- Strong experience with deployment pipelines and Application Lifecycle Management (ALM), including Azure DevOps and Git integration
- Practical experience managing Microsoft Fabric capacity, including sizing, allocation, load monitoring, and cost optimization
- Strong end-to-end understanding of the BI Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
- Expertise in Power BI security, including RLS/OLS, tenant settings, service principals, and workspace governance
- Strong knowledge of BI architecture and design patterns, including star schemas and composite models
- Advanced experience with DAX performance tuning
- Experience defining naming conventions, reusable templates, and development standards
- Ability to establish technical practices and standards that can be adopted consistently across multiple teams
- Strong English communication and cross-functional leadership skills
