About the role
In this role you will drive CI regression, reviewing and refining legacy and new Python automation scripts while working closely with requirements for next‐generation platforms. You’ll work with real network devices on non-shipped platforms, extending your networking expertise and directly influencing product quality before release.
Responsibilities
- Drive CI regression to support and review legacy and new automation scripts, ensuring continuous integration runs are executed reliably and collaborating closely with relevant stakeholders to maintain script quality and coverage
- Work closely with stakeholders to understand requirements for new platforms, expected behaviors, and align regression activities and automation script reviews with evolving product needs and stakeholder expectations
- Collaborate with team members to identify, document, and communicate bugs and other issues discovered during regression runs, ensuring timely feedback loops into development and platform requirement discussions
- File bugs and different issues found during CI regression runs into the appropriate tracking systems, providing clear descriptions, reproducible steps, and relevant CI details to support efficient resolution
- Improve CI/CD workflow by analyzing regression results, identifying bottlenecks or instability sources, and suggesting adjustments that enhance pipeline reliability and execution efficiency
- Improve tests stability by continuously monitoring regression outcomes, refining automation scripts, and coordinating with stakeholders to minimize flaky tests and strengthen overall test reliability
Requirements
- 6+ months of hands-on experience with Python for test automation scripting and framework customization
- Solid experience with Git for version control, branching strategies, and collaborative workflows
- Practical experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools for automated build, test, and deployment processes
- Hands-on experience with issue-tracking and collaboration tools such as Jira and similar platforms
- Strong knowledge of test automation frameworks such as pyATS, FTL, UTF, and similar tools
- Solid networking knowledge of core protocols and concepts, including IP, DNS, MAC, HTTP/HTTPS, SNMP, SSH, Telnet, TFTP, and SYSLOG
- Practical experience with Linux-based operating systems, including command-line usage and basic system administration
- Familiarity with containerization and virtualization tools such as Docker and Vagrant for setting up and managing test environments
- Confident understanding of QA methodologies, test design techniques, and end-to-end QA processes
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills for identifying, analyzing, and resolving complex issues in test and production environments
- Effective communication and collaboration skills for working in cross-functional, distributed teams
- Proactive and detail-oriented approach to testing, documentation, and continuous improvement
- Adaptable mindset with willingness to learn new tools, technologies, and domains in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with additional scripting languages or test tools beyond Python and the listed frameworks would be a plus
- Familiarity with performance, security, or reliability testing practices and tools would be a plus
- Intermediate or higher level of English for effective communication in a multicultural environment
