ABOUT THE ROLE
In this role, you will be part of a team of data-focused engineers dedicated to continuous learning, improvement, and daily knowledge-sharing. You will support the development and maintenance of data processing solutions for a global technology leader delivering cutting-edge networking, cloud, and security products.
As a Junior Big Data Engineer, you will work with modern data tools and cloud technologies, contributing to customer-defined tasks while gaining hands-on experience in scalable data systems within a collaborative and growth-focused environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in building and maintaining data pipelines using technologies such as Airflow and Apache Spark
- Support data processing and transformation tasks using Python and/or Scala
- Work on customer-defined tasks, prioritizing deliverables based on business needs
- Collaborate with team members to ensure data solutions are reliable, scalable, and efficient
- Participate in code reviews, testing, and debugging activities
- Contribute to maintaining and improving cloud-based data environments (AWS)
- Continuously develop technical skills and follow best practices in data engineering
REQUIREMENTS
- 1+ years of experience in Data Engineering or a related field
- Basic hands-on experience with Python and/or Scala
- Familiarity with big data technologies such as Apache Spark and workflow orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow)
- Understanding of cloud platforms, preferably AWS
- Willingness to learn and develop in the Big Data ecosystem
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
- Upper-intermediate level of English for daily communication in an international environment
