Senior Research and Development Agentic AI Expert aligns team and company goals, proactively works with business development, takes part in pre-sales, and conferences. Senior Research and Development Technical Architect is able to prioritize prototype features in terms of technology and time complexity, set up goals for the team in uncertain conditions using appropriate methodologies and approaches. Makes the decisions and leads changes.
SoftServe’s Research AI Lab - an applied research group inside R&D - building next-gen agentic AI systems that move from lab to production. You’ll join a 150+ person organization of research engineers, architects, and product minds working across LLMs, multi-agent orchestration, trustworthy AI, and real-time systems. We turn breakthrough ideas into measurable client impact, shipping reference architectures, SDKs, and production-grade agents for complex, real-world workflows.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead engagements that turn AI investment into agentic performance — showing clients clear, defensible results from their technology spend
- Partner side-by-side with client teams and internal delivery groups to ensure every agentic project succeeds through shared ownership and transparency
- Guide organizations through AI readiness, orchestration design, and agentic adoption, bringing structure where there’s uncertainty
- Serve as the connective tissue between innovation and delivery — helping enterprises realize the real-world efficiency, scale, and trust that autonomy enables
- Turn AI investment into agentic performance with clear, measurable outcomes
- Build trust in AI by proving its value through clear outcomes, not abstractions
- Publish patterns, speak at events, and shape SoftServe’s agentic roadmap from research to adoption
- Lead and collaborate on the organizing of proposed new studies, research, and cases
- Propose and lead new technologies and trends studying and adapting basing on marketing needs and the latest technology trends
- Lead technological vision in new areas of research by prototyping and creating deep technological demos
- Handle full spectrum of the research process: from hypothesis to academic presentation
Preferred Competencies & Experience
- A hands-on AI architect / senior consultant with a deep interest in agentic AI systems, and human-centered design
- Experienced with LLMs (fine-tuning, function/tool use, RAG), multi-agent frameworks and graphs (planning, coordination, memory, tool routing)
- Fluent in orchestration, LLMOps/MLOps and productionization on AWS/Azure/GCP
- A natural communicator and trusted advisor who can help clients and delivery teams find clarity amid complexity
- Previous experience leading client workshops, enablement programs, and maturity assessments that align vision, value, and execution
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science or engineering, or equivalent from accredited university with strong academic record or related work experience
- Certifications: AI certifications are a plus

- Ability to travel 30%+
This posting includes an anticipated salary range that SoftServe expects to offer for this position. The range provided reflects the base salary only. Final compensation within this range will be determined based on a number of factors, including, but not limited to: geographic location, relevant experience, education, certifications, skills, budget, and market conditions.
The anticipated salary range for this role is $150,000.00 – $200,000.00 annually, in line with our internal compensation framework and budget allocation for the role. Most candidates are offered a salary within this disclosed range. If the role is eligible for a variable pay plan, this would be considered separately and may provide additional earnings beyond the base salary range reflected here.
